Bundaberg Walkers is seeking highly skilled Pressure Welders to join their team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.
The role includes but is not limited to:
Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Relevant certification and qualification
Proven experience in various welding and fabrication techniques
5+ years’ experience in the manufacturing industry is desirable
Forklift and overhead/ mobile crane licences are desirable
First Aide certificate is desirable
Where necessary, Working in Confined Spaces and Working at Heights tickets are desirable
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints
Experience working with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and other alloys
Familiarity with a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools
Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct quality checks on completed work
Good ability to read and understand 2D AutoCAD and Inventor drawings
Ability to handle work accurately and swiftly while under extremely tight time constraints.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace
Good verbal and written communication skills with trade terminology.
Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
Must have great work ethics
Salary: Between $70,000 and $75,000 per annum + Super
