Pharmacist- Position Description
About:
Full time permanent position for an experienced Pharmacist to assist the
manager dispensing 220 to 280 scripts per day using Fred Dispense & Minfos Software.
Main responsibilities
Sales and service
• Provide high level customer service to customers including greeting and serving
customers, address a range of customer service enquiries and routine customer
problems.
• Undertakes all correct procedures when processing cash, cheque or credit card
transactions.
• Maintain awareness of and promote in store promotions and where possible
generate customer interest.
• Assist in the supply of Pharmacy and Pharmacist Only Medicines within the
pharmacy by using the required questioning protocols, referring the customer to
the pharmacist if required and providing pharmacy medicines, health care
information and self-care practices where trained.
• Assist in the delivery of quality customer service to pharmacy customers by
assisting in determining the customer needs, providing information on pharmacy
products and services, matching product to customer needs, finalising the sale
and providing after-sales service.
• Pharmacy image
• Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy appearance in the pharmacy.
• Convey image appropriate to pharmacy.
• Assist in maintaining stock presentation, including cleaning and shelf labelling.
• Handling non-dispensary stock
• Receive and handle stock including accepting and checking of stock, storage and
handling processes, re-stocking pharmacy shelves and presentation of stock in the
pharmacy as directed.
• Complete all necessary stock takes.
Safety and security
• Comply with procedures to meet occupational health and safety requirements.
Apply pharmacy security procedures.
• Report potential breaches of the above to the pharmacy manager.
• Follow infection control guidelines and use safe and hygienic practices to control
and minimize the cross transmission of infection in the pharmacy.
Staffing and staff performance
• Conduct themselves in a manner which reflects honesty, loyalty and integrity
• Apply work practices as required under State and Federal Work Health and Safety
Legislation and associated Codes of Practice and ensure compliance with the Equal
Opportunity and Discrimination legislation.
• Attend and participate in training sessions as directed
• Attend and participate in meetings with staff and management as required.
• Advise management of any period of absence caused through illness, emergency or
any other reason as soon as practicable.
• Comply with all policies and procedures in place in the pharmacy.
• Apply basic knowledge of workplace responsibilities and rights, use the
pharmacy's policies and procedures and effective work practices to undertake
daily work activities
• Build relationships with customers and provide professional customer service, in
response to customers' needs, at all times.
Any other duties as required by the employer.
Qualifications and Skills:
• 2 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to learn and progress
Location: Mildura, VIC.
Work hour: Full time - 38 hours a week.
