JJ Communications provides specialised electrical and communication services to modern high technology industries.
After rapid growth we require even more Telecommunications Riggers to join the team! Experience in a similar telecommunications industry role will be a distinct advantage.
Reporting to the team leader of the rigging crew you will be carrying out all rigging works on telecommunications installation sites. You will be working at heights, as part of a team.
Duties will include:
* Installation, testing and maintenance of telecommunications equipment mounted on high structures, including radio towers
* Assessing installation requirements, planning and performing installations;
* Testing installed equipment and fault-finding
* Following all Client and Industry specifications, standards and HSE guidelines
* Reading and interpreting construction / as built drawings to successfully complete works to a high standard
* Adjusting, replacing and repairing faulty items, and testing equipment using electronic instruments
* Ensuring all paperwork is job coded and is correctly submitted to head office in a timely manner
* Relevant documentation on completions of works including photographic documentation as required
* Co-ordinating with other contractors when required
You have:
* An unwavering commitment to safe work practices
* A solid knowledge in the use and selection of the correct, specific equipment for rigging works (including but not limited to pullies, winches, blocks etc.), depending on the project requirements (load weights and sizes, facilities and work schedules)
* An ability to read and interpret construction drawings
* An ability to problem solve
* A current Drivers License

* Physical strength and agility sufficient to perform the work required (ie; climb mobile network towers)
* Ability to work at heights
* Possibility for working away from home
* Developed specific goals and plans to prioritise, organise and accomplish work in a timely and professional manner
* A positive and enthusiastic, ‘can do’ attitude
* Willingness to work and contribute to a team
* Construction White card
* Current Victorian police check
Highly Desirable
* Current Certificate in Rigging (Basic, Intermediate or Advanced)
* Work Safely at Heights Certificate & Tower Rescue
* Licence to Perform High Risk Work
* Competency based qualification and experience with Elevated Work Platforms (EWP)
* First Aid Certificate
