Category 5 Labour Management (VSA) are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Civil Engineering Technician to join their team in Melbourne VIC 3207.
A Civil Engineering Technician will undertake duties such as:
- Surveying and preparing job sites,
- Injection of expanding polyurethane,
- Use of precision monitoring equipment,
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks like drilling, job preparation, injection of resin, etc,
- Operate equipment; Category 5 Labour Management units, forklifts, pumps, compressors, spray guns, drills, lasers, compressors and other heavy machinery.
- Perform regular equipment, material, and routine site inspections to assure that assets are maintained in accordance with Category 5 Labour Management procedures.
- Interpreting work assignment instructions, applying appropriate procedures and selecting equipment
- Collecting and analysing data, and carrying out computations
- Estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
- Inspecting civil engineering works, and organising and supervising maintenance and repair work
- Conducting field and laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, and collecting data for traffic surveys
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
- Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or related discipline
- Understanding of technical plans and drawings
- Problem solving approach
- Ability to read, write and orally communicate in fluent English
- Able to understand and carry out instructions within safety requirements
- Able to work within a team and autonomously
- At least 3 years of experience in similar roles
Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with skills and experience
