Senior Control Systems Engineer

An opportunity exists for a Senior Control Systems Engineer in vertically integrated provider of energy control solutions experiencing a strong period of growth. The role has responsibility for designing control systems for power generation, protection systems and rotating machinery. Specifically, this will include genset and power station control, electrical-mechanical protection and turbine controls (gas, steam, hydro).
• Perform, and lead, complex software/hardware TSP creation, test setups/troubleshooting, engine calibration, emissions testing, testing of customer/internal hardware/software.
• Create and update BOM's, wiring diagrams, drawings, electrical schematics, test plans, training material, creation of O&M manuals for customers.
• Supervise FAT and SAT.
• Coordinate project milestones/project scope and ensures activities associated with the PLC process and department level procedures are adhered to.
• Mentor and assist level 1 and 2 engineers.
• Participate or lead projects in analyzing and sizing of third party internal/external products and definition.
• Support the commercial group in proposal creation, technical support commercial offers, and customer presentations.
• Co-author papers with other engineers’ complex or novel research assignments.
• Accountable for emissions certification support or regulatory compliance support for products and systems.
Requirements
• Degree in Engineering, Science or another technical equivalent.
• Significant previous experience in designing control systems for power generation and protection systems (genset and power station control and electrical-mechanical protection)
• Significant previous experience in designing control systems for rotating machinery (gas and steam turbines in refinery process and LNG industries, as well as hydro turbines).
• Preferably previous experience with ComAp, DeepSea, Woodward or DEIF controllers.
• Knowledge of design tools, basic use of DFSS tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of Engineering quality systems (PLC, engineering change, configuration management).
• Ability to run existing standard tools (e.g. GAP, ProE, NetSim, Toolkit, Intellution, Citect, AutoCad, MatlLab, Simulink).
• Well-developed leadership skills; ability to drive results across organizational boundaries.
• Complete understanding of component and system function and testing requirements, manufacturing processes, drawings and standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Complex problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
