Position Overview:
As a Motor Mechanic with their transport company, you’ll play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining their fleet of trucks and transport vehicles. Your work will be vital to their operation, ensuring that their vehicles remain in top condition and meet all safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and Diagnose: Identify mechanical and electrical faults across various vehicle types in our fleet using diagnostic equipment.
Perform Repairs: Conduct repairs and replace parts for engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other critical components.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine services like oil changes, brake checks, and tire maintenance to keep our fleet running smoothly.
Ensure Safety and Compliance: Test vehicles after repairs to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards, following manufacturer guidelines and industry regulations.
Utilise Diagnostic Tools: Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues, particularly for modern and electronically controlled vehicles.
Qualifications:
Certification: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
Experience: Prior experience as a Motor Mechanic, ideally within the transport or heavy vehicle industry.
Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in diagnostics and repairs, with experience working on commercial transport vehicles.
Attention to Detail: Commitment to high standards of safety and accuracy in repairs.
