Milk HAUS is a charming garden to plate eatery on the outskirts of historic Milton. Located in a 19th century converted cheese factory homes our wholefoods eatery serving a curated seasonal + sustainable menu for curious and conscious diners.
Milk HAUS is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team in the south coast of, NSW.
As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day kitchen operations and assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of service and food preparation. This is a full-time position that offers opportunities for growth and development within our business.
What you'll be doing
• Competently execute food preparation consistently and to a high quality whilst following the correct procedures for temperature controls, food storage, stock rotation, cleanliness and hygiene.
• Maintain the quality standard of all dishes during both food preparation and the execution of finished dishes during service.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
• Manage food inventory, ordering, and cost control to maintain profitability
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
• Train and mentor to develop the skills and expertise of our team
What we're looking for
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Senior Chef.
• Ability to work 5 consecutive days, flexible of working evenings for special events
• Formal culinary training and qualifications, such as a diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team
• Excellent knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and plating techniques
• Strong understanding of food costing and inventory management
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of food quality
• Excellent time management, problem-solving, and attention to detail
