Position Overview:
As a Storeperson, you will support the daily operations by managing stock, fulfilling customer orders, ensuring a high standard of customer service, and maintaining store cleanliness and organization. With the growth of the business, the director is now focused on strategic management, necessitating a dedicated Storeperson to handle daily operational tasks and support a smooth customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Stock Management
Receive, inspect, and store incoming products and materials.
Organize inventory in a neat, accessible, and efficient manner to facilitate quick retrieval.
Monitor stock levels and reorder items as necessary to maintain adequate inventory.
Conduct regular stock audits to ensure accurate inventory records.
Order Fulfillment
Prepare and package customer orders according to store standards.
Ensure all items are accurately labeled, priced, and display clear expiration dates.
Coordinate with suppliers to place orders, especially for fresh meat and grocery items.
Customer Service
Assist customers with product inquiries and guide them to the appropriate sections of the store.
Address customer complaints and concerns to ensure high satisfaction levels.
Handle transactions at the cash register, including cash and card payments and issuing receipts.
Health & Safety Compliance
Follow hygiene and safety standards, particularly when handling and storing fresh meat.
Maintain cleanliness in all store areas, including storage and display sections.
Adhere to proper waste handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
Operate store equipment, such as meat slicers, scales, and packaging machines, safely and efficiently.
Regularly clean and perform basic maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the store manager.
General Store Maintenance
Keep the store organized, clean, and visually appealing at all times.
Restock shelves and ensure products are neatly displayed and accessible to customers.
Assist in setting up displays for special promotions or seasonal items.
Requirements:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Completion of Year 12 education.
A minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in a similar role within a retail or grocery setting is essential.
Strong organizational skills for inventory management and store maintenance
Basic knowledge of grocery products, particularly Indian, Nepalese, or Bangladeshi items
Familiarity with handling and storage of fresh meat products and adherence to hygiene standards
Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to assist with product inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction
Experience handling transactions, including cash and card payments
Ability to operate store equipment such as meat slicers, scales, and packaging machines
Basic maintenance skills to clean and maintain equipment for safe operation
