As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality personal care and support to elderly residents. You will work closely with nursing staff and other team members to ensure that residents receive compassionate care tailored to their individual needs. Position: Personal Care Assistant
Location of work: 264 High Street, Ashburton, Victoria - 3147
Employment type: Permanent, Full time
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 plus Superannuation
The main duties of the position include but are not limited to:
• Provide individualised care and support to assist residents in accordance with their preferences, choices and needs as documented in their care plan.
• Assist with and support the activities of daily living
• Provide emotional & lifestyle support.
• Provide care and services with dignity and respect (shower & toileting)
• Prepare and deliver meals and refreshments to residents including texture modified items.
• Responding promptly and appropriately to the needs of residents, representatives and colleagues.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of consumer care
• Adhering to all relevant health, safety and infection control protocols
• Collaborating with the nursing team to ensure the delivery of quality, person-centred care
Qualification/Skills required:
• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience working in an aged care or healthcare setting.
• Understanding or knowledge of Dementia, Mental Health, caring for people with a disability and/or challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of older adults.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated care team.
• Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, hygiene and care.
