Our Peak Mine comprises two underground polymetallic (gold, lead, zinc, copper, and silver) mines and an 800 thousand tonnes per annum processing plant. The Mine is located in the northern Cobar Basin in western NSW, a short distance from the town of Cobar.
The Federation deposit hosts high-grade zinc, lead, and gold mineralisation and is located in 15 kilometres south of the central-west township of Nymagee and approximately 90 kilometres from Peak. The opportunity to help shape the future of a new mine does not come around often!

Mining Engineer Opportunity
We are a leader in the mining industry and are seeking a Mining Engineer to join our operation at 'Peak,' located in Cobar, New South Wales, Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing the extraction of our known resources (gold, silver, copper, lead, and zinc) through safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations. You will collaborate with various Technical Services teams and our Operations crew to develop comprehensive mine designs and schedules.
Key Accountabilities:
Technical Accountabilities:
• Ensure the health and safety of all workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices,
and completing required safety training.
• Develop safe and effective mine plans for operations, including Stope Notes, Development
Plans, Production Drill Plans, Charge Plans, Brow Cable Plans, Stop Log Installation
Plans, Backfill Plans, Bogging Plans, and Mullock Removal Plans.
• Enhance your knowledge of the mining methods used at the Peak Mine, while also
mentoring and developing others within the technical services team.
• Track and monitor operational performance to guide planning and decision-making.
• Create and review weekly and 12-week schedules to ensure safe, effective production of
the Peak resource.
• Solve diverse mining challenges, such as drill and blast operations, mine design,
scheduling, and ventilation.
• Plan daily tasks and activities, taking initiative to drive your own professional development.
Scheduling Accountabilities:
• Efficiently manage available resources, including your time, to support the technical
services and mining teams.
People Accountabilities:
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Ensure your own work performance meets all role requirements and pursue professional
development when necessary.

Capability Requirements:
Essential:
• Behaviour consistent with our client’s values.
• Ability to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months) for site
access purposes.
• Current unencumbered ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
• Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of Mining Engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialised mining software such as Deswik CAD,
Deswik UGDB, Deswik Sched, and Ventsim.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and business acumen with an ability to communicate
effectively at all levels.
