The Client:

Melbourne Metropolitan College has built its reputation as a national vocational institute that offers quality education for both domestic and international students.



The Role & Responsibility:

The role on hire is for a full-time Senior Contract Administrator based in Adelaide, SA at an annual salary set between $85,000 to $95,000, depending on experience plus superannuation.

The Senior Contract Administrator oversees the entire contract management framework and contract lifecycle of the organisation including but not limited to:

Develop and implement the organization’s contract management framework.

Draft, negotiate, monitor, and review contracts for educational programs and services offered by MMC, including service levels, fees, and financial obligations.

Liaise with external legal practitioners and internal departments to ensure contracts comply with the latest legal requirements and deadlines.

Oversee the entire lifecycle of contract management, from initial request and draft review through final approval and archiving, ensuring all contracts are managed effectively and consistently.

Develop and maintain a centralized contract repository for MMC, implementing automated tracking systems to monitor contract milestones, expirations, and renewals.

Establish and refine risk management protocols to proactively address potential contract-related risks, conducting detailed risk assessments for high-value agreements.

Lead contract negotiation sessions with external parties, employing advanced negotiation strategies to optimize contract terms and align with MMC's strategic objectives.

Create detailed contract performance reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics, compliance statuses, and financial performance for data-driven decision-making.

Update and revise contracts based on evolving legal regulations to minimize the risk of disputes or penalties.

Communicate changes in legal and contractual obligations to relevant teams within MMC.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, agents, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth contract negotiations and execution.

Monitor compliance with performance standards, legal requirements, and contractual obligations.

Conduct regular performance review meetings to assess contract adherence and identify areas for improvement.

Analyze existing contracts to identify inefficiencies and risks, providing actionable recommendations to senior management.

Develop and implement solutions to enhance contract management practices within the organization continuously.

Conduct regular training sessions for MMC staff on contract management best practices, ensuring all departments are aware of legal and financial implications.

Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to contracts, programs, services provided, and individuals affected.

Manage all documentation and paperwork associated with contracts.

Collect and analyze data on projects and programs, reporting on outcomes and effectiveness.

Oversee office supply needs for MMC staff and educational activities.

Coordinate campus renovation agreements, managing any legal matters associated with these projects.

Manage budgets for contracted services, ensuring financial compliance with contractual agreements.



The Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Law, business, or management

Proficiency in contract law and ASQA’s regulatory approach

Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract administration within an educational institution

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in dealing with multi-tiered and international contract negotiations

Minimum of 5 years proven experience working with various stakeholders, including mangers and external partners

Minimum of 3 years’ experience with contract law, regulatory compliance frameworks (especially ASQA and relevant state regulations), and proficiency in legal databases and contract lifecycle management (CLM) software

Expertise in developing, reviewing, and negotiating educational service contracts

Proficiency in collecting, analysing, and reporting data related to educational projects and programs

Demonstrated ability to successfully undertake duties and achieve agreed objectives within a team environment as well as independently applying own initiative

Demonstrate ability to make decisions and act with initiative to identify and resolve problems
