Role Overview
We are looking for a talented and experienced Chef to join our team. This role involves menu planning, food preparation, and quality control, all while ensuring that every dish meets our high standards. As a Chef, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our menu and elevating the culinary experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
Plan and design authentic Indian menus, estimate food and labor costs, and manage food orders and inventory
Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring quality and consistency at every stage
Collaborate with Managers and kitchen staff to resolve food preparation challenges and maintain workflow efficiency
Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on culinary procedures to maintain excellence
Uphold strict hygiene and safety standards, training team members as necessary
Potentially freeze and preserve foods as part of inventory management
Skills and Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications. On-the-job training may also be required.
Key Competencies:
Comprehensive knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques and flavor profiles
Strong organizational skills for effective menu planning and inventory management
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the team
