The Deputy Commissioner Tasmania represents the Minister, the Commissions and DVA in Tasmania. This includes managing DVA's day to day relationship with a range of stakeholders including ex-service organisations, the broader ex-service community and individual veterans. The Deputy Commissioner plays a key role in the identification and management of local issues, and as the senior departmental officer in Tasmania, provides pastoral care to all DVA staff in Tasmania. As Assistant Secretary, the Deputy Commissioner is also responsible for the Portfolio Management Branch. The Executive Officer is directly responsible to the Deputy Commissioner and is required to work effectively within a fast paced, high functioning small team environment.
