Job Purpose:

Position Overview:

The HR Manager will lead and manage the full spectrum of the Human Resources function across the organization. This role is responsible for end-to-end recruitment, performance management, Employee relations, providing HR counsel & advice and developing and executing HR strategies.

The HR Manager will ensure all HR initiatives align with the organization’s business objectives and contribute to the overall success of the company.

The ideal candidate will be commercially astute, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels within the organization and possess a deep understanding of HR best practices.

This is a true generalist role.

Key Responsibilities:

 HR Leadership:

    • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's business goals and objectives.
    • Provide advice to senior management on all HR matters, including workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development.

  Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:

    • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting and candidate sourcing to interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
    • Partner with department heads to understand their staffing needs and ensure timely hiring of qualified candidates.
    • Develop and maintain a strong employer brand to attract top talent.

 Performance Management:

    • Oversee the performance management process, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and providing feedback.
    • Implement programs that drive high performance and employee engagement.
    • Address performance issues and provide guidance on performance improvement plans.

 HR Counsel and Advice:

    • Provide expert HR advice and support to managers and employees on a wide range of HR issues.
    • Handle complex employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
    • Ensure that HR policies and procedures are up-to-date and effectively communicated across the organization.

 Employee Relations & Engagement:

    • Foster a positive work environment that promotes employee satisfaction and retention.
    • Lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organizational culture.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to employees at all levels, offering guidance and support on career development and workplace issues.

 Commercial Acumen:

    • Ensure that HR initiatives are aligned with the financial and operational goals of the organization.
    • Provide insights and recommendations on HR-related costs, including compensation and benefits, to support the organization’s financial performance.
    • Partner with finance and operations teams to ensure HR initiatives are commercially viable.

 Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure the organization’s HR policies and practices comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
    • Manage risk associated with employment practices, including compliance with employment laws and regulations.

 HR Information Systems (HRIS):

    • Manage and optimize the HRIS to ensure accurate and timely data management.
    • Utilize HR analytics to drive data-informed decision-making and report on key HR metrics.
    • Ensure compliance with all HR-related legal and regulatory requirements through effective HRIS management.

The ideal candidate will have:

Education: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of HR experience across the gamut of HR.

 Skills:

    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Proven ability to manage complex HR relations issues.
    • Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
    • Strong multitasker, excellent attention to detail, resilience and people skills
