About the role:
DIT AgTech manufactures innovative remote monitoring water dosing technology for the supplementation of livestock and require Electrical Technicians to assist in the production of this technology. The successful candidate in this role will be responsible for accurately manufacturing DIT devices as part of the production and assembly team.
You will be part of a small team where teamwork and collaboration is the key to success. The mentality of "rolling up your sleeves" and being accountable for your area of responsibility is expected and provides you with an opportunity to grow and expand your knowledge.
The role will involve full training at our Production Facility located in Townsville. You will learn about all of the DIT devices: what they are used for, how they work and how they are assembled. You will also gain insight into how these devices are used across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing of IOT devices is done promptly and accurately for despatch of all orders.
• Be responsible for production of all major sub-assemblies required to meet the corresponding production schedule.
• The operation of hand and power tools involved in fabricating the IOT devices.
• Work closely with the Research and Development team to develop new products and ways to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain culture of the business and build team dynamics.
• Be able to identify risks and hazards in both safety and quality and rectify problems with documented Corrective Action Measures (CAR/s).

Skills and Experience:
• Electronics – You will have relevant professional or hobby experience, sufficient to accurately and quickly understand wiring diagrams and schematics, identify component values and the purpose of various subcircuits. You must be adept at soldering through hole components, plugs and wires. Our PCBs come prepopulated but familiarity with the use of hot air rework
stations and/or reflow ovens and SMD/SMT components would be beneficial.
• Troubleshooting – You will be experienced and competent with the use of multimeters and oscilloscopes. Along with the ability to read electrical schematics you will have a knack for pulling apart and fixing electronic devices.
• Fine motor skills and attention to detail – Candidates must possess proficient eye-hand coordination to work with small parts to perform repairs and installations, as well as the diligence and thoroughness to minimize mistakes and rework.
• A farming background – This is not a customer facing role but customers are core to our business. The ideal candidate will be aware of the difficulties and opportunities our customers face, the harsh environment our devices will be deployed to and the significance of the solutions we provide.
• Computer skills – Familiarity with various windows applications including Microsoft Excel. Software specific to the role can be taught but experience uploading firmware and the use of serial port debug tools are desirable.
• Communication skills – work collaboratively in a team setting speaking with various managers, programmers, and technicians.
• Organisational skills – must exhibit above average organisational skills including maintenance of testing equipment, reporting, records, and manuals.
