We are looking for an experienced warehouse manager/stock controller to join our small/medium sized wholesale family business, selling imported and local art and craft supplies in Cheltenham. We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate who wants to work in a positive and supportive environment with growth opportunity. Previous warehouse management and stock controller experience is essential.
The Position:
This position will provide the opportunity to share your previous warehouse management and stock control experience to manage and enhance the operations of our warehouse team. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administration of all warehouse and inventory related functions. This role requires strong planning, management, communication and people skills and will involve working both with the warehouse and office team. The ideal candidate will take an interest in the overall business and be dedicated, reliable, with a strong work ethic and a desire to be a critical part of the management team on a long term basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving and improving warehouse operations, inclusive of managing all warehouse duties such as shipping, receiving of goods, unpacking containers, stock replenishment and rotation, picking goods for deliveries and ensuring all tasks are completed within company/customer timelines.
Liaising with the purchasing team to co-ordinate and plan for incoming goods
Liaising with the sales team to plan and co-ordinate outgoing goods
Dealing with all inventory related issues & ensuring stock accuracy including weekly discrepancy reports and investigation of variances
Invoicing
Completing regular cycle counts and leading stocktakes
Proficient use of RF Scanner
Use of Excel (basic formulas and data entry) to manage stock control
Review and Improve SOPs
Setting a positive example for all employees, and motivating the team to meet company goals
OHS compliance
Skills and experience:
Previous experience working within logistics/warehousing Expertise in best practice warehouse management procedures
Experience with inventory management systems
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, functions, data entry and data analysis)
Strong attention to detail Problem-solving skills
Exceptional planning, leadership, communication, and people skills (ability to plan, provide direction and follow through to ensure tasks are completed timely)
Experience with the receipting of imported goods is beneficial Team player (willing to do hands on work as part of the warehouse team)
Proven ability to implement processes, SOPs and improvement initiatives
Managing freight and deliveries
Energetic and physically capable of manual lifting
Forklift licence and full drivers licence required
Strong English verbal and written communication skills
