Our client is recognised for their outstanding customer service, price and high standard of workmanship. Their team of skilled mechanics deliver reliable and professional services to ensure vehicles run smoothly and safely. These services extend to onsite truck, trailer and heavy vehicle repairs, as well as 24 hour/7 days a week breakdown service to anywhere in Sydney.
About the role:
Our client has experienced significant growth in operational capacity and are now seeking an experienced and qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic to join their busy team as their business continues to grow. This role will allow you to utilise your skills and experience to provide service, maintenance, and repairs to a wide range of diesel engined truck, trailer and heavy vehicles. The role is full time and ongoing.
Role and Responsibilities:
As their new Diesel Motor Mechanic, you will:
• Perform first rate minor and major repairs to a wide range of diesel engine vehicles, including cylinder heads, pistons, bearings, gearboxes, and exhaust systems.
• Conduct regular routine and preventative maintenance, including inspections and servicing of diesel engines, tyre rotations, oil changes and filter replacements.
• Perform regular diagnostic tests in diesel engines and fuel systems, identifying mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and specialised testing equipment.
• Ensure accurate records are kept of each repair performed on vehicles.
• Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the workshop.
To be actively considered you can demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
• Highly relevant trade qualifications (minimum Certificate IV or equivalent)
• At least 2-3 years post training professional experience, preferably more.
• Possess solid references.
• A can-do attitude and team spirit.
• Great time management skills.
• You are a logical and analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
• You must have industry knowledge and safe work practices / OH&S are essential.
• You have unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia.
