The Role
This is for a full time role with an annual salary set at $73,250 plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
· Study drawings and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
· Order and select appropriate timbers and materials, and prepare layouts for construction projects.
· Cut materials accurately and assemble parts by nailing and shaping them according to specifications.
· Erect frameworks and roof framing, ensuring accurate installation and verifying the trueness of structures.
· Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding, door, and window frames securely.
· Assemble prepared wood to create structures and fittings that are ready for installation.
· Skillfully cut wood joints, ensuring precision and accuracy in the construction process.
· Construct concrete formwork, when required, to shape and mold concrete structures.
· Repair existing fittings, utilizing carpentry skills to restore or replace damaged components.
· Work with various materials, including plastic laminates, perspex, and metals, as needed for specific projects.
· Install sub-flooring and floorboards, ensuring a stable and level foundation for the building structure.
· Apply expertise in selecting, cutting, and fitting materials to create aesthetically pleasing door and window frames.
· Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure seamless integration of carpentry work within larger projects.
· Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, maintaining a secure work environment and preventing accidents on construction sites.
Requirements
· Relevant qualifications in carpentry
· At least 2 years proven experience as a Carpenter in the construction industry.
· At least 2 years professional experience gained working on residential and commercial carpentry projects
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
· Strong knowledge of various carpentry techniques and tools.
· Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of the job.
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
· Commitment to safety standards and regulations.
