Comprehensive salary package from $73,150 pa (plus superannuation)
About the role:
On behalf of our client, Global Skilled Employment services is currently seeking a Qualified Cook to join the kitchen team in a restaurant. You will be able to perform tasks in a busy kitchen environment, and with an ability to train apprentices.
Required Skills and Experience:
• AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher equivalent
• At least 3 years recent relevant work experience
Duties includes:
• Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
• Regulating temperature of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
• Preparing and cooking food
• Seasoning food during cooking
• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
• Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• May plan menus and estimate food requirements
• May train other kitchen staff and apprentices
Other required skills:
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience working in a high-volume kitchen environment is essential to your success within this position.
