Intermediate and Senior Insolvency Accountant Your new company Working with distressed businesses presents unique challenges. However, as advisers, you have the chance to assist business owners and those impacted by potential insolvency, helping to minimise damage and, in some cases, revive struggling businesses. Due to growth, our client is looking to expand their Far North Insolvency Accounting team by hiring Intermediate and Senior Accountants. These roles will be based in the Cairns office, focusing on supporting registered liquidators and bankruptcy trustees. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a large insolvency firm or an accounting firm with a similar client base. Apply appropriate controls to client engagements.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and cash flows.
Prepare draft reports for lenders and creditors.
Compile information, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
Build and develop relationships with clients, including promoting the business restructuring offering.
Ensure all working papers are accurate and the file is maintained appropriately.
Complete investigations and report any identified contraventions in a timely manner.
What you'll need to succeed To succeed in the field of insolvency, it is crucial to recognise that you will be dealing with individuals during highly emotional periods of their lives. Therefore, resilience and empathy are key traits that our client values. The ideal candidate should possess 1-4 years of work experience in a similar role and hold a relevant degree. Additionally, having a CA or CPA qualification is essential. The ability to work both as part of a team and independently is required, along with strong communication skills to maintain robust relationships with clients and team members. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, a high attention to detail is also necessary.
