Position Title: Horticulture Grower

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation
Position Overview:
The Horticulture Grower will be responsible for managing the cultivation, growth, and harvesting of plants at our Woolgoolga location. This role requires expertise in plant biology, soil science, and the use of modern horticultural techniques to ensure the health and productivity of our crops.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of various plants.
Monitor plant health and soil conditions, adjusting care schedules and practices as needed.
Apply integrated pest management strategies to protect crops from pests and diseases.
Collaborate with management to develop planting and maintenance schedules that maximize yield and efficiency.
Manage irrigation systems, ensuring optimal hydration levels for different plant types.
Conduct research and trials to explore new growing techniques or crop varieties.
Keep detailed records of crop performance and farming activities.
Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural standards and safety regulations.
Train and supervise farm workers, promoting best practices in horticulture.
Liaise with suppliers to obtain seeds, supplies, and equipment necessary for horticultural activities.
Requirements:
Australian Citizens and Permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Bachelor degree or higher in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in a horticultural role.
Strong understanding of plant physiology, soil science, and agriculture technology.
Proficiency in managing large-scale agricultural operations.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
