Job Overview:
SS Automotive is seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team in Kings Park, NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general mechanical repairs, servicing vehicles, and ensuring all automotive work is conducted efficiently and safely. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Servicing:
Perform routine servicing and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles.
Check and change oil, fluids, filters, and other consumables.
Inspect and replace brake pads, tires, and other mechanical components.
Mechanical Repairs:
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, including engine, transmission, suspension, and steering systems.
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
General Maintenance:
Maintain workshop equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Follow workshop protocols for safety and cleanliness.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and repairs completed.
Customer Service:
Interact with customers to explain vehicle issues and the required repairs.
Provide estimates for repair work and advise on preventative maintenance.
Requirements:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
AQF Certificate III in Automotive Technology, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role as a Motor Mechanic.
Strong mechanical and technical skills with the ability to diagnose and repair a range of vehicle issues.
Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills to liaise with customers and explain technical information clearly.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
