Role:
Operate forklifts to move bulk materials, containers, crates, palletised goods, cartons and bales.
Job Duties
• Responsible for operating forklifts to move materials and products within a warehouse, storage facility, or construction site.
• load and unload trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles, ensuring that materials are handled safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for transporting, stacking, and organizing goods and materials in a manner that maximizes storage space and minimizes the risk of damage.
• Regularly inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Adhering to workplace safety guidelines and regulations to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe operating practices.
• Maintaining records of materials handled, inspections performed, and any incidents or accidents that occur while operating the forklift.
• Communicating with other team members, supervisors, and truck drivers to coordinate the movement of goods and ensure efficient operations.
• Complying with workplace policies and procedures related to the handling and storage of materials, as well as any specific guidelines related to the type of goods being handled.
• Maintaining a valid forklift license and staying up-to-date with training and certification requirements.
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience:
AQF Certificate II or III (ANZSCO Skill Level 4) with 2 years full-time relevant work experience. At least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
