Job Description
We are seeking an experienced accountant to manage financial operations within education and migration service sector. This includes handling commissions from partner institutions, overseeing client payments, and tracking inflows from visa and counselling services. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting in establishing budgetary and financial policies tailored to the needs of an education and migration consultancy firm.
• Compiling financial statements for review by management, director, and relevant regulatory and statutory bodies.
• Conducting financial analysis, preparing reports, performing audits, and providing expert advice as required.
• Analysing operational costs and reviewing the income and expenditures of organizations.
• Ensuring the accuracy and compliance of information within financial reports according to statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Offering expert financial and tax guidance on business structures, planning, and operational strategies.
• Preparing tax returns for individuals and organizations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Coordinating with financial institutions and brokers to organize and manage funds and investment arrangements.
• Developing, implementing, and advising on accounting systems, including guidance on the adoption of computer-based accounting solutions.
• Maintaining and evaluating internal control systems to support organizational accountability and integrity.
• Assessing cash flow requirements and financial risks associated with capital investment projects.
• Overseeing the accounting team to ensure efficient day-to-day operations and alignment with the firm’s financial objectives.
• Collaborating with universities and colleges on commission-related matters, ensuring timely reconciliation and reporting to optimize partnership returns.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance,
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Understanding Tax Regulations of Australia Preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as XERO and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
