OVERVIEW:
Karworx is seeking an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team in Essendon, VIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality mechanical repairs and maintenance on a wide range of diesel vehicles. The role involves diagnosing faults, performing scheduled services, and ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and running efficiently. The Diesel Motor Mechanic will also contribute to fleet and commercial vehicle maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our commercial clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on diesel-powered vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
Conduct routine services, including log book servicing, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications without affecting vehicle warranties.
Utilize diagnostic scanning equipment to identify mechanical issues and recommend necessary repairs.
Complete repairs on vehicles covered by insurance claims and warranty work.
Perform roadworthy inspections (RWC) and ensure vehicles meet all legal and safety standards.
Work on fleet and commercial vehicles, ensuring timely and efficient servicing to minimize downtime for businesses.
Carry out pre-purchase inspections, providing clients with thorough evaluations and unbiased advice.
Ensure the proper use of tools, equipment, and workshop space, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding vehicle issues, repairs needed, and recommendations for maintenance.
Assist with performance tuning and upgrades to enhance the driving experience of customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or related qualification.
At least 2-3 years of experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic, with a proven track record in servicing and repairing diesel engines.
Experience with commercial and fleet vehicles is highly advantageous.
Strong technical knowledge of diesel engine mechanics and related vehicle systems.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Commitment to vehicle safety and high-quality workmanship.
