Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a high-tech international communications company & are currently seeking a highly skilled NV1 System Administrator to support a sophisticated IT environment, for opportunity based onsite in Canberra. As a System Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the security, efficiency, and maintenance of complex IT systems. You'll conduct regular checks, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and manage both physical and virtual assets to ensure optimal system performance. You will also be responsible for managing user access, system updates, and coordinating with vendors to resolve issues as they arise. Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily health checks on both Windows and Linux systems.
Manage system updates and patches in line with the maintenance schedule.
Troubleshoot and resolve flagged issues through an internal ticketing system.
Engage with vendors for support as required.
Manage physical hardware, including installation, removal, and sanitisation.
Provide Active Directory management for user access and permissions.
Collaborate with project teams for upcoming tasks and changes.
Perform regular vulnerability scans and backup audits.
Deliver training and guidance to external client representatives.
Requirements:
Proven experience in IT system administration, with strong knowledge of both Linux and Windows.
Familiarity with automation tools, enterprise backup solutions, and system monitoring.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
Project management experience with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Australian citizenship and an active NV1 security clearance, or ability to reactivate a previously held clearance.
Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Professional certifications in Linux, Windows Server, or system administration.
Five or more years of hands-on experience in system administration.
