Tasty Kitchen Tasty Kitchen is looking for a skilled and passionate Chef to bring culinary excellence to our vibrant Geelong restaurant. As a Chef, you’ll be responsible for creating exceptional dishes that showcase our commitment to quality and creativity. You’ll plan and prepare a variety of menu items, manage kitchen operations, and ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are met. Responsibilities: Plan and create innovative menus, estimating food and labor costs Order and manage food supplies, ensuring quality and freshness Prepare, season, and cook food items according to recipes and standards Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations Manage and coordinate kitchen staff activities Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on cooking procedures Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation Develop new recipes and adapt menus to meet changing customer preferences Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques Discuss food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen staff Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations Monitor and control food and labor costs Skills and Qualifications Required: Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a high-paced kitchen environment. Education: Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery (Certificate IV or equivalent). Skills: Strong culinary skills, including a knowledge of cooking techniques and cuisines, attention to detail, and consistency in food preparation. Adaptability: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by business needs. Team Player: Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and train kitchen staff.
