About the position

We are seeking two qualified Site Fitters to join our team on a permanent full-time capacity.

Afternoon shift - 2pm to 11pm Monday to Friday.
Night shift 10pm - 7am (commences Monday morning 12am - 7am, Tuesday & Wednesday 9pm - 7am and Thursdays 10pm - 7am.

You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and your main responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance on equipment, plant and machinery, proactively reporting faults or conducting repairs
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on equipment, plant and machinery using diagnostic tools and techniques and report any major faults or anticipated faults or breakdowns to the Maintenance Supervisor
Ensure emergency repairs are performed in an expeditious and safe manner
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Identify and liaise with Management to plan for future maintenance works including identifying equipment, parts and specialty items which will be required to complete task
Proactively communicate with Management to ensure they are aware of issues, delayed repairs or identified risks
Work in partnership with your team leader to agreed performance standards and mutual expectations. Give and receive regular feedback to enable performance to be improved
Communicate accurately, succinctly and in a manner, which promotes a client service orientation
Actively manage your own performance by identifying your own requirements regarding personal and professional development and utilise opportunities that are made available to develop new or enhance existing skills to optimise your potential within Rino Recycling
Cooperate in a professional manner with all clients, team and management and act in accordance with the company values to achieve a harmonious and productive work environment.
Be committed to the quality improvement process by participating in improvement initiatives and making suggestions for efficiency and effectiveness
Be familiar with, and undertake all work in accordance with, relevant policies, regulations and legislation.
Follow directives and obey WHS rules and be responsible for your own safety and the safety of others by:
championing HSE by setting a personal example and demonstrating leadership in the implementation of processes, programmes and initiatives.
implementing immediate action to correct reported or observed unacceptable conditions or at-risk behaviours.
Immediately stopping a work activity in the event of imminent risk to the safety and health of themselves or another employee, the environment or the public
understanding and working in accordance with HSE plans, procedures and Safe Work Method Statements
reporting and where possible immediately rectifying any unsafe condition or behaviour identified

Any other duties, projects or responsibilities as directed, within the limits of their skill, competence, and training, and consistent with their classification level.

Due to the physical nature of this role, a pre-employment medical assessment is required.

About you

Whilst we require applicants to be trade qualified with knowledge of hydraulic systems, equally important will be:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, diesel engines, transmissions, and other heavy equipment components
Experience in working on conveyors, crushers would be desirable
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks
Ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence
Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management and organisational skills
Agility and resilience to work within a constantly evolving business environment
Ability to work as part of a team but also independently, with strong initiative and organisational skills.
Exceptional attention to detail, highly organised and able to balance competing and diverse priorities.
