Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced carpenter to join our team at Moss Vale Precast Concrete Products and Jack Precast Concrete. The successful candidate will work precast projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of structures. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of construction techniques, carpentry tools, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

•Formwork Carpentry: Design, construct, and dismantle formwork molds used for pouring concrete to create structural elements such as slabs, walls, beams, and columns.
•Precast Concrete: Collaborate with the team in the production and assembly of precast concrete elements, ensuring precise measurements and proper alignment during installation.
•Wood and Metal Structure Assembly: Cut, shape, and assemble wooden and metal structures for construction projects, including frameworks, scaffolding, and supports.
•Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance of wooden structures, formwork, and precast concrete molds as required on-site.
•Finishing Carpentry: Install doors, frames, windows, and other finishing elements, ensuring a high standard of detail and quality.
•Tools and Equipment: Operate a variety of carpentry tools and machinery, such as saws, drills, and sanders, while maintaining equipment in good working order.
•Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment. Follow company policies, procedures, and applicable building codes.
•Team Collaboration: Work closely with other carpenters, labourers, and construction managers to meet project deadlines and ensure efficient workflow.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent recognised qualification).
• At least 2 years of relevant experience as a carpenter, with a focus on formwork and precast concrete projects.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans.
• Experience in both wood and metal construction.
• Familiarity with precast concrete processes and formwork systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety regulations.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and on construction sites.
• Proficiency in working at heights and using scaffolding.

Additional Notes:
This role is critical for the success of Moss Vale Precast and Jack Precast’s construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience not only in carpentry but also in concrete and formwork, allowing for flexibility and expertise across different construction tasks.
