Job description:
-Create handcrafted gourmet pies, ensuring adherence to defined standards.
-Carry out a range of tasks for the effective preparation of pastry goods including kneading, cutting, molding, bending, and forming dough.
-Skillfully handle equipment dedicated to the rolling and molding of dough, ensuring efficient and precise preparation processes.
-Weigh and portion ingredients accurately throughout the preparation process.
-Prepare fillings, dough, and toppings, ensuring high-quality standards in taste and presentation.
-Research and develop innovative recipes and menu items to enhance menu offerings.
-Check the quality of raw ingredients and store food items appropriately to ensure freshness.
-Develop and refine company recipes, experimenting with seasonal ingredients.
-Regularly check and adjust oven temperatures, assessing product appearance to identify ideal baking durations.
-Coordinate the entire baking process including shaping, molding, loading/unloading, baking, de-panning and cooling of all pastry products.
-Ensure proper machine functioning and maintenance.
-Maintain budgetary targets by efficient use of ingredients and resources.
-Carry out the tasks of emptying, cleaning, and greasing baking utensils, ensuring a hygienic and well-maintained kitchen environment conducive to optimal productivity.
-Uphold the kitchen’s adherence to health standards by complying with food safety and hygiene regulations and maintaining a sanitary workspace.
Qualifications/Attributes:
-Must hold a minimum Certificate III with at least 2 years of on-the-job training, a Certificate IV, or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of the formal qualifications.
-Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience.
-Strong knowledge of baking and crafting techniques, baking methods, and presentation.
-Expertise in crafting pies with attention to detail and flavour balance.
-Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Salary Range: $ 60,000 - 80,000 p.a before superannuation
