Job description:
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standards.
• Assist in menu creation, development, and adaptation to meet seasonal and customer demands.
• Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation for all meals.
• Manage and oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment by following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Monitor stock levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, including apprentices and kitchen hands.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of meals.
• Monitor portion sizes and waste to ensure cost control.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and local health and safety regulations.
Qualifications/Attributes:
• Must hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification
• Must possess at least a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Have outstanding communication and leadership skills.
• Must have the willingness to collaborate with other colleagues.
• Must be obsessed with cooking, including unique and emerging trends.
• Must have good planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
