Position: Job Advisor Program Area: Employment Service Purpose / Objective Employment Advisors volunteer in the ASC Employment Hub, providing one-on-one support to people seeking asylum as they strive to achieve their employment, training and education goals. Reports to: Employment Services Manager Commitment Period: - Minimum 6 months Commitment Requested:
4 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Flexible.
ASC Newtown Office
Weekly commitment preferred
Attendance at volunteer training and meetings.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support people who attend the ASC Employment Hub to: Conduct employment assessments Develop resumes and cover letters, utilising ASC templates. Apply for jobs and build job search skills. Setup online profiles e.g. Seek, Jora, LinkedIn. Evaluate and apply for roles with ASC Employer Partners. Prepare for job interviews. Complete pre-employment paperwork (TFN, WWCC, etc). Identify and/or enrol in relevant work readiness and training opportunities.
