Genis Steel Leading industrial and residential steel manufacturer located in Melbourne is currently seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their manufacturing department in Elizabeth South SA and Somerton VIC.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Preparation and assistance of plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Engineers including collection of analysed data, preparing diagrams and carrying out computations
- Analyse and assess performance graphs to ensure functionality and diagnosis is in accordance with manufacturing specifications
- Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper function and identify faults by organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant equipment
- Dismantle defective machine and components for repairs
- Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operations and make adjustments
- Maintain maintenance records
- Installing equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications
- Repairing, servicing and maintaining a wide variety of equipment and machinery
- Selecting correct tools and equipment for the assembling and installing of new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine, tools and controls and hydraulic power systems.
- Ensuring works are within specifications and regulations including material costing’s, quantities, machine requirements and timeframe.
- All other duties as required by management
Skills and Abilities:
- Ideally have a Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and or
- Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant field.
Salary range is $70,000 -$85,000pa commensurate with experience
Hours: fulltime
