Position Overview
We are looking for a Computer Network and Systems Engineer in Full Time capacity to become an integral part of our IT support team based in our Forest Lake o?ce, Brisbane. This role is tailored for tech enthusiasts with a solid foundation in IT principles, eager to dive into a hands-on technical environment. As the ?rst line of support, you will tackle a range of IT-related inquiries, playing a pivotal role in maintaining the operational excellence of our technology systems.
Key Responsibilities
• First-Level Technical Support: Serve as the ?rst point of contact for all technical issues, providing timely and e?ective solutions. This involves handling queries related to computer systems, hardware, and software. You will troubleshoot problems and o?er clear guidance to resolve them, primarily dealing with technologies such as Microsoft 365, Windows and Linux-based servers, and Hyper- V virtualisation.
• Network and Connectivity Troubleshooting: Address fundamental network-related issues, ensuring reliable connectivity for all users. This includes identifying and resolving problems a?ecting internet access, internal networks, and Wi-Fi performance, focusing on environments using UniFi devices and networks.
• Server Administration and Support: Perform routine maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting for server environments. This task covers both Windows and Linux servers, including managing virtual servers via Hyper-V. Microsoft 365 Administration: Manage and support Microsoft 365 applications and services, assisting users with email setup, collaboration tools, and access issues. This role requires familiarity with Microsoft 365 Administration tools and practices.
• Web Hosting and Domain Management: Oversee web server management and domain name system (DNS) settings. Responsibilities include assisting server administrators in con?guring and maintaining cPanel servers, managing domain registrations, and ensuring correct DNS con?gurations for optimal website performance.
• Cybersecurity Basics: Apply fundamental cybersecurity measures to protect systems and data. This involves monitoring for security threats, implementing basic security practices, and ensuring the secure use of all technologies, especially in relation to Microsoft 365, server environments, and network infrastructure.
Requirements
• A bachelor degree or higher qualification. At least five years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification.
• Strong foundation in IT, preferably evidenced by relevant quali?cations or experience.
• Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and technical support across various technologies, including Microsoft 365, Hyper-V, Windows and Linux servers, UniFi networks, cPanel, and DNS management.
• Basic understanding of network troubleshooting and cybersecurity principles. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic IT environment.
