The Opportunity

Our Western Sydney Service Centre is looking for Mechanical Fitters (Team Members) in our Operations team. Working with Bluescope’s newest paint line, featuring modern equipment and automated process’ throughout the facility, you’ll be working with premium COLORBOND® products.

We are growing our team to support our Metal Coating Line project, increasing our existing paint line operations at the WSSC site, located in Erskine Park, NSW. This development will provide up to 240,000 tonnes of additional capacity to feed COLORBOND®, ZINCALUME® and TRUECORE® steel products, used for roofs, house frames and fencing.

Contributing to the safety, quality and the reliability of our equipment, you’ll perform a variety of Operator tasks throughout shift, including operating machinery, equipment troubleshooting, plant setups and isolations. Working in a supportive team environment, you’ll ensure the continuous production activities on our paint line, whilst providing technical guidance and support on equipment. This position works a desirable rotating 12-hour day and night shift, 5 days a week (no weekends!)

What Will You Do?

Demonstrating your technical capability, you’ll ensure the quality and reliability of our equipment and products. You will also:

  • conduct equipment and process inspections, identifying issues and troubleshooting equipment
  • provide technical support and problem-solving insight to ensure the continuous functionality and reliability of equipment
  • work collaboratively with cross functional teams to improve the efficiency of equipment
  • ensure our quality products meet customers’ expectations and requirements
  • learn to operate overhead cranes with training
