Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia requires 2 workers to work within our Laundry Department as a Laundry Shift Leader provide quality clean linen, guest laundry and staff uniforms for the Resort to use in the daily running of operations located in Yulara, NT.
The day-to-day duties may include:
• Start up and Shutdown procedures e.g., boilers air compressors and laundry machinery
• Extractor washer and dryer operations with use various chemical powders
• Lead factory and pressing roles through daily operations through task delegations and priorities
• Provide training and guidance for new employees and training for employees learning new machinery operations
• Cleaning and pressing linens in line with standard operating procedures
You will be required to use tools and equipment such as a washing machines & dryers, linen press, boilers, air compressors and cleaning chemicals, work individually and in a team with others, and have the ability to work quickly and with accuracy.
The work is physical, and you may be required to work in a harsh desert environment with temperatures that range from 12 to 45 degrees Celsius.
You will be employed on a (full-time) basis of $29.76 per hour under the terms and conditions of the Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Pty Ltd Enterprise Agreement 2016 (Resort Worker Level 3B) and receive a minimum of 38 hours per week.
The work is usually performed between the hours of 06:00 to 23:00, Monday to Sunday as this role requires shift work, weekends and Public Holiday’s.
Work is expected to commence on or around May 2025 for a period of 12 months.
Experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to learn and acquire additional skills during their employment.
Candidates should be motivated and be able to learn quickly.
