Position Overview:
As a Motor Mechanic at Kialla Automotive, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a diverse range of vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing vehicle issues, performing routine maintenance and major repairs, and ensuring that all work complies with safety standards. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with customers regarding their vehicle needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Diagnosis: Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
Repairs and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, brake repairs, etc.) and major repairs (engine, transmission, etc.) on cars, trucks, and other vehicles.
Parts Replacement: Replace or repair worn-out components, including tires, brakes, batteries, and exhaust systems.
System Testing: Test vehicle systems, such as the engine, transmission, and suspension, to ensure proper functioning.
Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain vehicle issues, recommend services, and provide estimates on repair costs.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and hours worked.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workshop to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
Australian Citizens and Permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
AQF Certificate III in Automotive (including at least two years of on-the-job training) or AQF Certificate IV in Automotive.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
Strong technical skills in vehicle repair and maintenance.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide exceptional service.
Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean work environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
