Your New Role:
An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Group Financial Controller to join a leading global business services organization based in Sydney's CBD. As a key leader within the team, you will oversee accounting operations, provide guidance to staff, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Duties:
Accounting Operations Management:
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Analyze financial results, identifying discrepancies and implementing process improvements.
Serve as an IFRS accounting subject matter expert, advising on accounting treatments and ensuring compliance.
Oversee workers compensation accounting, including forecasting and alignment with OHS teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet reporting deadlines and provide support as needed.
Team Leadership:
Supervise accounting team activities, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Mentor and develop staff, offering regular feedback and growth opportunities.
Tax and Regulatory Compliance:
Prepare financial statements and manage external and internal audits.
Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
About You:
CA qualification with technical excellence in IFRS.
Proactive with high attention to detail.
Blend of audit and commercial experience, with 8+ years in a commercial setting.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across the business.
Proven track record of process improvement and implementation.
High-level computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Leadership and management abilities.
