The key duties include: Collaborating with clients and designers to find out the material and price of furniture that has to be fixed or manufactured. Repairing wooden frames, springs, and padding reupholster items, and removing and swapping out faulty springs. Measuring, cutting, and sewing materials (fabric, leather, vinyl) to fit custom furniture designs. Taking out the cushioning, webbing, and covers from antique furniture. Cushioning and covering spring units for mattress upholstery. Attaching and securing buttons, braids, and decorative trims. Maintaining, cleaning and finishing wooden surfaces on furniture and eradicating stains from fabric, leather and vinyl. Using industrial upholstery machines, staple guns, and hand tools efficiently and safely and ensuring overall maintenance, repair and cleaning of upholstered items. Ensuring all specifications and quality standards are met. Qualification & Experience 3+ years of experience in upholstery. Expertise in handling and working with different materials such as leather, vinyl, wood and fabric. Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and craftmanship. Ability to read and interpret design specifications or technical drawings. Good communication skills for liaising with customers and suppliers.
