SKL Executive is looking for an Actuary to join our growing actuarial consulting division looking to service our clients in Life Insurance & Wealth Management, General Insurance and Government Agency clients.
As a key member of our niche operations, you will evaluate, manage and advise on financial risks and provide strategic, financial advice. You will apply and communicate your economic and statistical knowledge on difficult financial topics to SKL clients and stakeholders.
This is a Sydney or Melbourne based full-time role with an offer of $70,000 to $96,400 plus superannuation depending on your skills and experience. Only short-listed candidates will be notified.
About you
In your role as a Senior Consultant or Manager you will:
Evaluate, manage and advise on financial risks for SKL clients
Apply a range of actuarial techniques to perform analysis, interpret results and demonstrate the ability to apply these results to reach relevant conclusions and commercial implications.
Utilise knowledge of business and economics to provide strategic, commercial and financial advice on capital management, risk management, pricing, product innovation, liability valuation and Appointed Actuary work
Apply understanding of probability theory, statistics and investment theory to contribute to a range of projects, manage deliverables and key stakeholders
Build and analyse financial models, and implement financial and statistical theories to recommend investments with the lowest risk - optimised profits equations
Develop strong and broad relationships with SKL clients, and provide a high level of client service on financial risks, investments and market trends
Be an influential member of the team, contribute to our positive learning culture, coach an mentor junior team members and help them to develop
We're looking for people with experience in the following areas:
Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial or similar field, with some experience in corporate or consulting role
Experience across one or more of the following areas: product development and pricing, capital and risk management, liability valuation and embedded value reporting, unit pricing, government agency actuarial work, superannuation and retirement income consulting
Ability to proactively develop strong and broad relationships with clients and provide a high level of client service
Strong technical skills
