Salary: $74,000 plus 11.5% superannuation
Position; Full time, Permanent

Our client, N J B Pty Ltd t/a Spar, Macleay Island operates an independent supermarket under the SPAR brand and is dedicated to providing the community with the freshest groceries, fruits, and vegetables, dairy products and non-food items. The store is known for its friendly atmosphere, exceptional customer service, and high-quality products. The client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Retail Manager to join its team to deliver the best shopping experience for customers.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage staff, optimize sales, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain inventory. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fresh produce and a commitment to maintaining high standards in all aspects of store management.

The managerial and administrative aspect of your role will encompass determining product mix, stock levels and service standards, selling goods, maintaining records of stock, financial transactions and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements:
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in the relevant field
3+ years' experience in a similar role

In this role your main responsibilities include:
Store Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the store, ensuring a clean, well-organized, and welcoming environment.
Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise store staff, fostering a positive and productive work atmosphere.
Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive outstanding service, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and displaying products.
Sales Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability, including promotions and special events.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure the store meets its financial goals.

The successful candidate will have a passion for the retail sector, be career focused and have strong management qualities.

Other key skills and experience will include:
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead, recruit, motivate, manage, and develop a large store team.
• Proven ability to achieve sales, wages & stock loss targets
• Demonstrated skills in stock management
• A drive to achieve store and individual sales budgets and KPI's
• An eye for detail and high visual merchandising standards.
