Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes. Supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains.
We are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop team at Parilla, South Australia approximately 2 hours from Adelaide.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of prime movers, trailers, dollies and farm equipment. This will require a commitment to planned program maintenance plus the flexibility and ownership to complete reactive maintenance in a responsive and timely manner that meets business needs.
Duties will include:
• Ensuring all fleet vehicles, trailers, tractors and other farm equipment are serviced per schedule and maintained to a high standard
• Ensuring key objectives are prioritised and accomplished in a timely manner
• Ensuring maintenance history for plant and equipment is accurately recorded
• Sourcing and purchasing of mechanical parts and equipment as required
• Carrying out field diagnostics and fault finding
• Repair and replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components
• Reassemble engines and transmissions
• Inspect and repair all vehicles to achieve roadworthiness
• Diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computers
Applicants need to be able to demonstrate the following:
• A minimum of three years experience in a similar role is essential.
• Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with a mechanical workshop plant and equipment
• Ability to confidently diagnose faults on site & in the workshop
• Ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently
• Flexibility and strong work ethic
• Relevant qualifications in mechanics (essential)
• Full/unrestricted drivers' licence (essential)
• Forklift & truck licences (desirable)
• Agricultural background/experience (desirable)
Flexibility and willingness to perform out of hours work to attend after hour vehicle breakdowns and retrievals will be required in this role.
Please note - Applicants must live near to Parilla (or surrounding towns) or be willing to relocate.
An annual salary of between $70,000 - $90,000 will be negotiated depending upon experience.
