About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced IB MYP Coordinator to join our Pedagogical Leadership Team. In this pivotal role, you will report to the Deputy Principal and collaborate closely with the Heads of Middle and Senior Years, the PYP Coordinator, and relevant Learning Area Coordinators. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, coordinate, deliver, and refine the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) at the College.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor middle years subject teachers.
Implement, document, assess, and report on the MYP programme.
Prepare budgets and recommend appropriate resources for the programme and staff professional learning.
Act as the MYP liaison between Good News Lutheran College and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all staff involved in the MYP, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Teach with a load of 0.6.
Essential Requirements:
Experience in an IB school
VIT Teaching Registration
A high level of self-awareness, leadership, and professional conduct.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work both under direction and autonomously.
Capacity to maintain and develop a strong Christian ethos within the College, particularly in Middle and Senior School.
Initiative and ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Experience in leading and managing change.
Proficiency in ICT, including high-level skills in SEQTA and the Microsoft Office suite.
A sound understanding of teaching and learning theories and practices.
Comprehensive knowledge of the IB PYP and MYP frameworks, as well as familiarity with the Australian Curriculum and VCE.
Personal Skills and Abilities:
Ability to foster a strong Christian ethos within the College.
Adherence to standards established by AITSL and Lutheran Education Australia.
High level of self-awareness and professional conduct.
Effective relationship-building skills with staff, students, and parents.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience in managing and facilitating change effectively.
