Bendworx is looking for highly skilled and experienced Welding Supervisor to join and work with their team of professionals on a full-time and permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities will include but is not limited to:
Continuously monitor and oversee all ongoing welding works to ensure compliance with applicable quality and safety regulations, project specifications, and industry standards. Develop and maintain Weld Procedures and Welder Qualifications.
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of welders, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture to optimise project timelines.
Efficiently manage and allocate resources, equipment, and materials to meet project requirements and deadlines.
Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all welding operations meet client, company and industry standards. Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of welding craftsmanship are maintained. Control, track, and complete workshop-level records and paperwork to ensure documented compliance.
Enforce and promote a strong safety culture and protocols to protect team members and ensure a safe working environment.
Organise and coordinate welding activities, ensuring efficient workflow and timely project completion.
Maintain and nurture effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and team members, to address challenges and ensure smooth project progression.
Identify and resolve issues that may arise related to ongoing activities, providing innovative solutions to overcome obstacles.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all activities, including daily reports, progress reports, and any required project documentation.
The right person for the role must:
Hold a Welding Supervisor’s Certificate in accordance with AS 2214, AS 1796 Certificate No. 10, or a New Zealand Institute of Welding Supervisor’s Certificate.
Hold an International Institute of Welding qualification at the level of International Welding Specialist (IWS), International Welding Technologist (IWT) or International Welding Engineer (IWE) diploma.
Hold a New Zealand Institute of Welding Certificate in welding engineering.
Hold a postgraduate certificate, diploma, or degree in welding engineering from a recognised university or an approved technical college.
Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, with a proven track record in welding inspection and quality assurance.
Extensive knowledge and understanding international welding codes, welding processes, equipment, materials, best practices, and ISO standards 1554, 3834, and 9001.
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Able to work as part of, and lead a team under pressure
Highly motivated, organised, safety driven, and reliable
