Joia Cucina is a buzzing restaurant in the heart of Ivanhoe. We offer great Italian food and drinks to a sophisticated local area. As we continue to grow we are looking for a Restaurant Manager who can grow with us. We need an ideas person, someone with innovation and strong work ethic who loves hospitality. We are open every day except Tuesday for dinner and Friday, Saturday, Sundays for lunch too. We are offering an attractive salary and other benefits including additional leave, food and drinks with every shift and flexible work options. The salary being offered is $70,000 - $80,000 per annum plus super. This will be a fulltime role.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
• Hire, train, and supervise front of house employees
• Consult with Chefs and assist in the menu creation and refinement
• Plan and create staff rosters to ensure appropriate staffing for all service times
• Track stock levels of drinks, supplies, and equipment, forecast needs, and oversee ordering as necessary for all front of house stock
• Take ownership of budgets and cost control methods to minimise expenses
• Address customer needs, comments, and complaints including using social media to engage with customers
• Adhere to and enforce employee compliance with health and safety standards
• Approve timesheets and maintain all relevant employee records
• Ensure all employees are working within outlined operating standards
• Ensure health and safety protocols are maintained
• Report on financial performance, inventory, and personnel
Qualifications/experience:
• Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (RSA)
• Minimum two years experience
• Working knowledge of general restaurant operations, including personnel management, budgeting, purchasing, adhering to health and safety standard
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent leaderships skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage operating costs in accordance with budgets
• Comfortable setting priorities and delegating tasks as needed
• Extremely organised and detail-oriented
• People person who can train more junior staff to provide great customer service
