You will be contributing to a clean, organized, and well-functioning kitchen, supporting the entire culinary team in providing a safe and efficient food preparation environment. Above minimum wage. Uniforms and boots provided. Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 7am to 1.30pm. Immediate start.

THE ROLE
1. Cleaning and Sanitizing: One of the primary duties is to clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils. This helps prevent the spread of germs and ensures a safe and hygienic environment for food preparation.
2. Dishwashing: Kitchen hands are often responsible for washing dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware. This includes both manual washing and operating dishwashing machines efficiently.
3. Waste Management: Proper disposal of kitchen waste is essential. Kitchen hands may be responsible for sorting and disposing of garbage, recycling, and compostable materials according to local regulations.
4. Assisting in Food Preparation: Depending on the establishment, kitchen hands may be asked to assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, peeling, or other tasks that support the chefs and cooks.
5. Maintaining Order: Keeping the kitchen organized is essential for efficient operations. Kitchen hands may be responsible for ensuring that all items are stored in their designated places and that the kitchen is tidy.
6. Stocking Supplies: They may assist in stocking and restocking kitchen supplies, such as cleaning materials, utensils, and other essentials.
7. Following Health and Safety Standards: Adhering to health and safety standards is crucial in a kitchen environment. This includes proper handling of cleaning chemicals, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and following established protocols.
8. Communication: Effective communication is important. Kitchen hands often need to communicate with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow.
9. Teamwork: Collaborating with other kitchen staff members is essential. Kitchen hands work as part of a team to ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently.
