Part-Time Governance Officer
A local council in the north-east is seeking a part-time Governance Officer to join their team for 2 days per week, with flexibility on which days for 3 months. In this role, the successful candidate will provide expert governance advice, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and enhancing organizational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide governance advice to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
Support Council meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking.
Maintain governance registers and ensure they are up to date.
Develop and review policies and procedures to improve governance practices.
Assist in managing the council?s responsibilities as a naming authority.
Conduct governance-related research and projects as directed.
Build relationships with internal stakeholders to promote good governance.

Strong understanding of Local Government processes and legislation.
