Mechanical Fitter required for a permanent job based in Osbourne Park, paying $48ph Your new company Your new company is a major player in the food manufacturing industry and are looking for Mechanical Fitters due to expansion. Your new role As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the reliability of our manufacturing equipment and systems. You will work closely with the production and engineering teams to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to breakdowns.
Mechanical Fitter trade certificate
Inventory management.
Minimum 3 years proven trade experience post apprenticeship
Industrial (high volume) food processing experience, particularly frozen foods
Knowledge of ammonia-based refrigeration systems
Must be able to read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints
Ability to develop and document Standard Operating Procedures
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) Preventative Maintenance Programs (Mex, PC Maint)
Have full understanding of HACCP, BRC, WQA
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated Experience in repair and maintenance of food / pharma manufacturing equipment, preferably high-speed packaging, vacuuming, and sealing style units
Experience in fault-finding on complex mechanical systems in a challenging production environment
Experience in time critical breakdown scenarios to ensure challenging production targets are met and equipment optimisation is possible
Ability to undertake, complete and report findings as part of the preventive maintenance program
Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships, communicate and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, information processing and problem-solving skills
The ability to prioritise breakdowns and multi-task jobs to deliver the best possible outcomes
Ability to identify and introduce improvements in maintenance practices and plant performance
Computer-literate & ability to navigate your way around our preventative maintenance program, MEX
Working knowledge of WHS principles
Production maintenance, fabrication, repair and close out of MEX requests will be a focus of this position.
Minimum Certificate III in a mechanical trade qualification.
