The Client

Jackson Enterprises Pty Ltd trading as Territory Disability Services is an Australian organisation that specialises in providing respite and long-term aged/disability support in outer-urban, regional, and remote communities in Northern Territory Australia.

As the demand for such services grows, they seek energetic, passionate and qualified Aged Disabled Care Workers to join their team in Alice Springs.





The Role

This is for multiple positions on a full-time basis with an annual salary set between $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation.





Responsibilities

Assist clients with bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

Help clients with mobility, including transferring from bed to chair and using mobility aids.

Support clients with eating and drinking as needed.

Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities and conversations.

Perform household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and dishwashing.

Helping clients in personal hygiene and dressing.

Helping clients with grocery shopping and other errands. Assist clients with transportation to medical appointments, social activities etc.

Accompany clients during daily activities to ensure they feel included and active.

Assist with mobility and safe movement to enhance physical well-being and independence.

Plan and prepare meals considering dietary needs to promote overall health.

Organize social activities to foster interaction and emotional well-being.

Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.

Assist with personal hygiene and dressing to ensure clients feel dignified.

Provide emotional support and companionship to foster trust and comfort.

Run errands and shop for clients to ensure they have necessary daily essentials.

Administer medications as prescribed to manage clients' health conditions.

Monitor and document client health to ensure appropriate care is provided.

Assist with physical therapy exercises to improve clients' strength and mobility.

Respond to emergencies and provide first aid to ensure client safety.

Coordinate medical appointments and transportation for necessary medical attention.

Maintain a safe living environment to ensure clients feel secure and at ease.





Requirements

In order to be shortlisted for this position, the right candidate needs to have:

At least a Certificate III qualifications in aged and disabled care

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

A minimum of 2 years practice of geriatric pharmacology

Certification or training in caregiving, first aid, and CPR.

Clear criminal background check.

Meeting physical fitness requirements for lifting and transferring clients.

Dependability and punctuality.

Effective communication skills with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds.

Documentation skills for keeping client care records.

Be able to handle pressure in a professional manner

Have positive past employment work references
