MODE Logistics is a global logistics network offering complete transport solutions for organisations involved in International Trade. They now seek an experienced full time Accountant to join the team in Melbourne Airport Business Park in VIC.

The Role:
This is for a full time role with an annual salary set at $75,000 to $95,000 plus superannuation and will depend on the experience and will be based in their office in Melbourne Airport Business Park in VIC.

The Responsibilities:
Development and implementation of accounting and internal control systems and selection of appropriate accounting policies
Preparation of cash flow, budget, and evaluation of financial risks for capital investment projects
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with prescribed policies and procedures
Ensure the accuracy of the information provided in the financial statements
Preparation of financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing accounting information for stakeholders
Preparation of special purpose reports regarding absorption, consolidation, mergers, capital financing, financial commitments, and obligations, if required
Analyse operations, trends, costs, and revenue of the organization
Liaison with external accountants for the preparation of tax returns and business activity statements
Assist the finance manager in preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, analysing financial figures, and commenting on discrepancies
Liaise with external tax accountants and government authorities for auditing purposes
Supervise end-to-end payroll for 100+ employees on a weekly and fortnightly basis
Analyse operating costs and expenditures, escalating findings to senior management for improvement
The Requirements:
At least a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Must have at least 2 years’ accounting experience in a professional capacity gained within Australia
Must have at least 2 years’ commercial experience in MYOB Accounting software.
Experience with Cargowise is a plus.
Advanced experience with Excel.
Must have at least 2 years’ commercial experience with company income tax and GST
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy with the ability to multi-task
Shows initiative, has strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
Demonstrates outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time-management skills with exceptional ability to work under pressure
